Originating from folklore and expanded upon in popular culture, it’s no surprise they’ve inspired many a great video game too. That’s why we’re counting down the 10 best Xbox One vampire games.

#10 BloodRayne – ReVamped

The cleverly titled BloodRayne: ReVamped is a remastered version of 2002’s BloodRayne. Original release on the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and GameCube. Popular as the Hack-and-Slash Action Game, BloodRayne The franchise grew into comics and movies. Naturally, a sequel and spin-off title followed the one that may or not be on this list.
It’s perfect for those nostalgic cravings. The remaster may have vamped up the game’s visuals, but, for better or worse, the gameplay remains largely unchanged. Meaning you’ll quickly be reminded upon playing that this was very much an OG Xbox-era game – clunky controls and all! It will definitely feel charming to some and it’s certainly appreciated we have a way to play the classic title on modern systems.

Three vampires are portrayed in a world that sees humans living unknowingly with creatures of the night. The game features their unique abilities and positions within the vampiric hierarchy. Their ultimate goal is to keep their way alive.
Because your real identity is hidden you’ll have to pick and choose when to use your supernatural skills to avoid arousing suspicion. This is crucial for passing speech tests and allowing you navigate through any difficult conversations or confrontations.

It’s not just vampires you’ll be dealing with either. As you’re let loose in the gothic-noir-inspired city of Borgova you’ll encounter a wide range of less-than-friendly inhabitants. From behemoths towering above you to blood-thirsty wolves.

In a post-apocalyptic environment, Code Vein This is an open-world role playing game that features combat inspired by the Dark Souls series. That means there will be a lot of challenging difficulty and laser-sharp reflexes to tackle this rewarding, but difficult title.
If it’s a challenge you’re after then you’ll wanna sink your teeth into this one. It’s Dark Souls meets anime meets vampires and we’re very much here for that.

The 2020 strategy game is a combination of turn-based combat and an empire management system. There are also card-game elements. This game is great for tactical play, where you need to be methodical in your decision-making.
Thankfully you’re also helped by a forecast system that warns you before battle how difficult a fight is likely to be. You will feel like the count, when you surpass all expectations and achieve a hard-fought victory.

Surprise! Another title in the BloodRayne Series on this list, and an improved version. BloodRayne Betrayal – Fresh Bites It is undoubtedly a more enjoyable experience than the previous one, and it does this by keeping things simple.
Gone are the attempts of realistic 3D environments in favour of a stylised 2D cartoon look that’s brought to life through smooth, over-the-top animations.
It’s fast and easy to hack-and-slash your foes in front of an eerie backdrop of gothic castles and graveyards. This is far more fun than the original.
It’s a good job Fresh Bites It’s also very difficult, which makes it look so impressive. Meaning you’ll have plenty of time to appreciate the small intricacies around levels you didn’t notice on your first (or fifth) attempt.
#3 Vampyr

In Vampyr You play the role of a vampire-like medical professional who must balance his moral obligations to uphold his doctoral duties with his desire for flesh. If that sounds like the plot of the hit 2022 meme and film Morbius well… you’re not wrong, it is very similar. Thankfully, Vampyr It’s a better experience, however.
This action role-playing game excels at giving the player agency. It is up to you to decide whether you want to feed your patients and gain strength fast or if your passive approach to learning about your newfound vampireism will help quell any urges, but ultimately make your character weaker in combat encounters.
With four different endings to experience depending on your choices, there’s plenty of replayability. This is a great way to revisit the experience once a year during spooky season.

Dawnguard is a downloadable content add-on for Bethesda’s much-loved (and bought) RPG, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. Not technically a standalone game then – but with so much content packed into this DLC, we couldn’t not include it on this list.
Skyrim’s snowcapped landscape had a lack of vampire content. Dawnguard delivers. We are pleased to introduce you to Dawnguard, an organization of vampire hunters who seek to stop plans that could block the sun.
This DLC has a number of great features, including a skill tree that can be used by both vampires or werewolves depending on the creature of the night. It’s 2008 all over again in deciding whether you’re team Edw- I mean vampire or werewolf.

Oft considered to be a spiritual predecessor to the popular Castlevania series. This is partly due to the fact that the Development of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Former leader Castlevania series producer Koji Igarashi.
The idea for the game came about because of numerous requests from fans for Igarashi’s continued development of the Metroidvania-style Metroidvania games that he is well-known for. As the title doubles in Kickstarter success, fans went as far to show their support by supporting it with their wallets. Raising over $5.5 million as more than 60,000 people backed the game’s funding.
The result didn’t disappoint, as Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Enjoy 2.5D platforming that includes tons of monsters and chests to loot. What more could you ask for?!
