The Flames are currently on a three-game skid. They have lost one-goal games in Edmonton and Seattle, before falling 4-1 to the Predators. Calgary had won five of the first six games of the season before this losing streak.
The off-season was a significant one for the Flames, who lost stars like Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk, but gained Nazem Kadri and Jonathan Huberdeau, as well as MacKenzie Weegar. Kadri leads Calgary with goals (5 and points (10). Calgary’s Rasmus Andersson is the leader with six assists. Jacob Markstrom, Flames goaltender of choice, is a 4-2-0 record. Markstrom’s 4-2-0 record includes 2.68 goals against and a.903 save percent.
Saturday will be Calgary’s last game in an eight-game homestand before they travel on a three-game roadtrip. The Flames will be playing back-to-back games on Long Island, before they visit the Devils on Tuesday. The team will then travel north to Boston to play on Thursday.
