Netflix is bringing Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales to their platform. This game features new gameplay that’s based on Season 4. The company’s push towards gaming continues with this no-ads game that allows users to play as characters featured in Season 4.
To defeat supernatural monsters like Demogorgons, users must solve puzzles. The game allows users to collect up 50 characters from the series. The company describes the game’s graphics as “nostalgic 1980s Saturday morning cartoon art style.”
Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales was first released in 2021 and it was removed from the App Store and Play Store in August after Netflix acquired the game’s publisher for $72 million. The streaming service stated that it was working to revamp the game and move it to Netflix.

The game also builds on Netflix’s efforts to let fans engage with the show in various ways. The streaming company partnered earlier this year with Reddit to create Stranger Things-based personalized avatars, and also partnered up with Spotify to create personalized playlists.
At TechCrunch Disrupt, the company’s VP for gaming Mike Verdu said that Netflix is exploring avenues to get into cloud gaming. After its August opening of its Helsinki studio, Verdu said that Netflix is now looking to open a second California gaming studio. In September, the company also introduced game handles that could be used across exclusive titles.
While the company is putting a lot of effort into making gaming a success, it hasn’t seen stellar results. Apptopia’s August report revealed that Netflix games had a daily average of 1.7 million users. The company reported that it now boasts 223 million subscribers in its Q3 2022 earnings.
