Season 01 will launch on PlayStation on November 16th. Continue reading to see all the highlights from Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty Warzone 2.0.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 — New Map and Innovations
Your first map for Warzone 2.0 will be Al-Mazrah, a city located in the United Republic of Adal. You may have already explored some of its regions in Multiplayer maps like Al Bagra Fortress, Embassy, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Taraq, Sariff Bay, and Sa’id.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 features a variety of new mechanics and features, including these highlights:
Loadouts are still available: Loadout Drops are used to deliver your Custom Loadouts later in the match. To purchase the Primary Weapon only from the created Loadouts, you can use cash at the in-match Buy Station.
Looting Mechanics Operators will be able to use a backpack system for storing their equipment and other items in the new DMZ Mode. Battle Royale will be using a simplified version.
The New Gulag is now open
Gulag 2v2 is an environment in which randomly paired Duos must work together to defeat the opposition. All players will receive a predefined Loadout with highly effective weaponry and gear placed toward the map’s center.
The Gulag Jailer will intervene in the middle of the match. The Gulag Jailer can be defeated and all four Gulag prisoners will be allowed to rejoin the match. Do you want to work together, or do you prefer the elimination victory?
AI Combatants
In addition to the Gulag Jailer, there are two other places where players will run into AI combatants — Strongholds and Black Sites. Both can be identified on the in-game Tac Map.
Strongholds allows you to fight AI opponents and locate and dearm a bomb within a time limit. Black Sites present an even greater threat, but offer valuable in-match rewards and a permanent Weapon Blueprint reward. To access a Black Site, you’ll need the Black Site Key, given to the first squad to clear out an active Stronghold.
Additional Innovations: Aquatic Combat and New Vehicles and Fuel System.
Circle Collapse: There can be three collapsed circles in Battle Royale modes. These will eventually converge for the final showdown. You will need to adjust your strategies as the feature is random in every match.
Chat with your friends about proximity Have something to share? All chatter in-game can now be heard by the Comms.
Interrogation: Intel is key in squad-based games. You can uncover enemy locations by successfully destroying player-controlled enemies.
New Vehicles The Heavy Chopper is an aerial powerhouse that can hover without a pilot. Or, the all-electric GMC Hummer EEV supertruck can be used to provide a flexible means for the team to cover significant ground quickly.
New fuel system: No more unlimited fuel sources — all vehicles use fuel over time, and when it runs out, that vehicle is no longer usable. Gas Stations or Gas Cans can be used to fill up vehicles.
Gas stations can repair damage to the body and tires, which can help restore vehicle health. Operators can repair flat tires anywhere in the world, by simply interacting with individual tires.
Aquatic Combat Operators can use boats or breaststroke to navigate rivers and waterways as part of their overall strategy for victory. Remember: only Sidearms, melee weapons, and Throwing Knives can be used while you’re submerged.
The Shops A new version is available on the Buy Station. It includes a unique collection of items that can be purchased in limited quantities. These items can be viewed and purchased back by fallen squadmates via a new interface.
DMZ — A New Battle Royale Experience
In addition to traditional Warzone modes — Battle Royale Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads — Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will launch with a brand-new experience known as DMZ.
DMZ is an open-world narrative-focused extraction mode that Operators can use to complete faction-based missions and engage with AI combatants or enemy Operators. They also have the freedom to search for valuable items while trying to escape.
Third-Person Playlists: You’ll be able to see the Battle Royale Weekly rotation from a different perspective when third-person Playlists are introduced later in Season 1. Modern Warfare II owners can get a taste of the third-person experience now through the game’s Multiplayer.
PlayStation Exclusive — Season 01 Combat Pack
For PlayStation Plus members, the Season 01 Combat Pack is free to use in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0/Modern Warfare II. Included in this Combat Pack are the “Oni Tactical” Operator Skin for Oni, the “Oni Revenger” SMG and “Oni Oracle” Pistol Weapon Blueprints, plus the “Sony Oni” Calling Card, “Welcome Death” Sticker, “Fractal Demon” Emblem, and the “Demon Fang” Charm.

This is an entirely separate experience that will keep all player progression, Battle Pass content as well as Store Bundles and other in-game purchase.

Tokens can be used for unlocking adjacent Sectors and to earn more items within unlocked Sectors.
New Weapons
Season 01 offers four new weapons that can be used in Multiplayer and Special Ops. Two of them can be obtained free through the Battle Pass.
Victus XMR Sniper Rifle: Bolt-action, bolt-action sniper rifle that can hit hard with.50 ca BMG ammunition. The tungsten sabot-tipped bullets with tungsten sabot tips are powerful and fast, but they require accurate shots at long distances.
BAS-P SMG: The BAS-P’s modular frame and aggressive fire rate make it ideal for the experienced Operator who wishes to personalize their weapon. Subsonic ammo kills enemies skulls.
The Mid-Season offers two other weapons that can be obtained by purchasing a store bundle or completing a challenge to unlock weaponry:
Chimera Assault Rifle: The Chimera can be used in close-quarters combat because it has an integrated suppressor as well as slow, high-energy,.300 BLK cartridges. Subsonic Ammo conceals skulls from the enemy.
M13B Assault Rifle: The M13B has a short-stroke pistol design that allows for high fire rate and low recoil.

New Operators

After losing his family to local Al Qatala soldiers, Zeus established the “Thunder” Corps, a counterterrorism group dedicated to hunting AQ wherever they hide and bringing them to true justice. Purchase the Season 01 Battle Pass to unlock Zeus instantly
Klaus (Mid-Season): A member of Denmark’s Elite Special Forces, Klaus Fisker can almost be considered a living legend among Operators. His legend began at the Urzikstan border. There, he carried a wounded companion 18 miles to his nearest base.
Gaz (Midseason) Price’s right-hand man, Gaz became legend in 2019 when his valiancy during an attack on Piccadilly Circus grabbed the attention of the formidable SAS Bravo Team captain. He ultimately joined Price’s elite unit, known as Task Force 141.
