Do you prefer to play against the world or against other people? Some games combine both of these experiences, while others offer them in a single game. In this 30-page list, we cover both.
#30 Tom Clancy’s The Division Series
Let’s start with a game that is PVPVE. Tom Clancy’s The Division Series was one of Ubisoft’s “big swings” in creating new IP. It took a while to get to systems, but it eventually made it, and now it’s a whole franchise.
You play the role of a secret agent for an undercover agency that rises only in the most dramatic situations. For example, when Washington DC is under threat from hostile takeovers.
You’ll dive into the environment and take on missions ranging from simple target takedowns to full-scale battles against enemy players. Although it’s not the best series, it will keep everyone entertained.
#29 Back 4 Blood
A title you might recall is Left 4 DeadThe team at Valve created this. Some of these people left Valve and created their own game called Back 4 Blood.
It’s not as good as the original at all. This will give you an experience that is very similar to the original.
The story centers around humans being overtaken by parasites known to be The Ridden. The Earth’s population is almost wholly overrun, so you and a few others head deep into the base of The Ridden to try and stop the invasion once and for all.
With a 4-player co-op feature, you’ll need to work together to get through the challenging maps or else be devoured by the infected.
#28 Deep Rock Galactic
Are you up for a dwarven adventure? If so, it’s important to note that Deep Rock Galactic isn’t set in a medieval world. Instead, it’s one where four dwarves go into space to get valuable materials. That’s the good news. The bad news is that as you enter the cave systems of the various places you mine, you’ll have to endure endless waves of monsters!
The game features a 4-player co-op, and you’ll have to wield various weapons to make it out alive. Take on the horde, and make use of the environment that is destructible to defeat the odds!
You can either work together or you can die by yourself and be eaten by the monstrous hoard!
#27 Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is one of the most popular games out there right now, and it’s for reasons that have to deal with the “gacha” system. But we’re not here to talk about that system! We aren’t!
Instead, we’re talking about the overall mechanics and plot of the title. You’ll play as one of two siblings who are sent to another world by a mysterious god, then separated and stripped of your power. You now have to search the lands in search of your sibling, and battle evil as you do.
Through an elemental combat system, you’ll learn how to battle in the game, and with some special characters at your side, you’ll travel the vast world to seek the truth behind what is happening.
#26 Minecraft
Minecraft is the best-selling game of all time; that’s a fact. It’s also a fact that despite its simplistic look, it has multiple gameplay modes for you to try.
The most well-known mode is the builder. Here you can go into a server to collect resources and build anything you wish. If you prefer a different feeling, you can switch to survival mode to see how long it takes you against the zombies, animals, and world around you.
It’s not the most challenging of survival modes compared to other games on this list, but it is something else you can do.
#25 Dark Souls Remastered
You’ll see three different titles by From Software on this list, and it should be obvious why. They combine challenging gameplay and player interaction in innovative ways. Gaming enthusiasts love a challenge.
Check out these things Dark Souls Remastered To start from the beginning. From Software makes the game visually better and improves on its quality-of life. Thus, if you’ve never played before, it’ll feel more like the later games than the rougher version that came out many years ago.
The most important aspect of the game is its challenging combat. You’ll face all manner of monstrosities only to find another waiting for you down the path.
#24 Torchlight II
Torchlight II It takes a holistic approach to gameplay and challenges. That’s because the game is full of randomized levels for you to play in and enemies to fight. Every playthrough will be unique from the last.
Add to that; the game offers you four different classes to choose from and battle as—each with its own abilities to wield.
The co-op feature allows you to play with your friend and take on the world together. The game’s world has a lot of options and paths for you to take. So dive in and see which ones you’ll choose!
#23 World War Z: Aftermath
World War Z This is both a highly successful videogame and a movie starring Brad Pitt. We’ll let you know which one you liked better.
Aftermath of World War Z The game delivers what they call the ultimate zombie adventure, continuing the story of both. The game will take you to new places that the last parts of the franchise haven’t touched as you try and reclaim the world from the zombie threat.
For example, you’ll head to Vatican City to face the dangers there or go to Russia to help other survivors in the snowy terrain. With full cross-play support, you’ll always find someone to play with when you want help killing zombies.
#22 Outriders
The world of OutridersHumanity is at the edge of collapse. Hope seems lost until you receive a mysterious signal. You’ll become an Outrider of your own making, then venture across a new world in search of the signal and what it could bring.
It’s a mixture of FPS and RPG. You’ll wield powerful firearms and a menagerie of powers that you’ll use on enemies that come your way. The more you progress, the more you’ll be able to upgrade and customize your gear. To survive in this dangerous area, you can play alone or with 2 other players.
#21 Rain Risk 2
Risk of Rain 2 Players can choose to face a completely different challenge if they wish.
In the game, you’ll find yourself in an alien world full of monsters that want to kill you. Twelve levels of increasing difficulty are what you’ll have to brave to come out alive. Here is where you have a choice. If you prefer the simple approach, you can easily complete all levels and reach your final boss.
You can also forego that and just run around the planet fighting off everything that comes your way. You have no limit on the level cap in this game. You and the monsters that you face will both grow in power with each level.
#20 Hood: Outlaws & Legends
Revolution is only possible when the wealthy and powerful do not leave anything for the common man. In Hood: Outlaws & Legends, you’ll become part of the “solution” to the wealthy problem. Your goal is to enter the medieval homes of wealthy people and get as much as you can to encourage others.
But you’re not alone in wanting to do that. As they compete against each other, the game pits players against each others to make the greatest heist.
The more heists that you complete, the better your weapons, abilities, skins, and other items you will be able to get. You could be the next legend.
You are about to enter a dystopian world where corporations have taken control of entire cities and have become so powerful that they can control the whole country. You are one of their “workers” tasked with keeping the district safe. The Ascent Group suddenly shuts down, and everything goes wrong.
You must rescue the people and investigate the corporate mishaps.
You can customize your character using various cybernetics or weapons to make it more powerful against those who want to exploit the situation. To survive and find the truth, you must constantly evolve your strategies.
#18 Absolver
Welcome to the Adal Empire, or at least what’s left of it. You awaken from your sleep to find a strange mask covering your face. It is so hard to remember who you are. The mask was given you by the Guides who are in charge of the fallen empire.
They are asking you to answer one question: Will your name be among their Absolvers?
To answer the query, you’ll travel across the realm and find others like you who the Guides are challenging. You will then fight them, and build a team using real-time combat. This will improve your skills and make you worthy of the honor.
#17 Killing Floor 2
Sometimes, you just want to have fun and let loose with your friends. Killing Floor 2 You will be able to do this in large numbers.
This title takes you to Europe where the epidemic that was caused by the first game is no longer contained. Now the entire continent is at risk of being totally eradicated. To fight back, a group of civilians will join forces with mercenaries and other civilians.
The game can be played in 6-person co-op. You can then kill these monsters with your friends, and then you can jump into the multiplayer modes to have even more fun and gore.
#16 Aliens: Fireteam Elite
The movie universe is the setting. Aliens: Fireteam Elite You will be accompanied by two Colonial Marines while you explore a planet. As you might expect this planet is full both of familiar and new dangers. You will need to work together with your team to win and improve yourself to survive.
Your team can be built in any way you like. Construct your team’s skills to eliminate Xenomorphs as quickly as possible. Or make them the ultimate defense force that can withstand any challenge. Multiple classes and weapons await you; you’ll need to use them perfectly if you want to make it off this world.
#15 Bloodborne
The second of the From Software titles that we’ll discuss is Bloodborne. A game that manages somehow to be darker than it should. Dark Souls. Figure it out.
The game is set in Yharnam and you play as a person cursed with darkness, who seeks to curse himself. The city is drowning via a strange illness, and you must uncover this place’s secrets to learn the truth behind it all.
There are many terrifying monsters waiting for you. You must use different weapons to defeat them.
When you seek an even greater challenge, head to the procedurally-generated dungeons with other players to have an infinite amount of experiences.
#14 Dying Light 1 & 2
Let’s return to the zombie games because we have a two-for-one special.
The Dying Light Two cities will be taken over by the zombie horde in these games. You can help alter the power balance by helping to change the balance of power.
You can go on missions in the cities to find the truth. Grab whatever you can to stop zombies and people. However, nothing lasts forever.
To get to safety, you can parkour around the zombies or take on them head-on. There’s a lot to do in these games, so don’t be afraid to look around.
#13 Hunt Showdown
You are welcome to the Bayou. It might not be what you’re expecting, though.
Louisiana is ruled by monsters in 1895. You’re a hunter who is called to assist in removing them. It might sound easy, except you’re not the only hunter in town.
Hunt Showdown This is the best PVPVE title. You’ll go on the hunt for a monster alone or with partners, and someone will kill it. If you kill it, the job ain’t done yet. You will be surrounded by other players once the monster has been defeated. You lose everything if you die.
You can fight monsters or other players and get the reward you deserve.
#12 Path of Exile
In Path of ExileYou are just that, an exile. You’re betrayed and put on the continent known as Wraeclast, a place of darkness and danger. Now you have to fight through its regions and gain the strength necessary to take back your lost items and defeat those who hurt you. Your motivator is revenge. It will carry you through the darkness.
With various items to use and a skill tree to grow from, you’ll build your character the way you want it to be. The choice is yours: focus on power and defense or something else.

#11 Warhammer Vermintide 2
The Warhammer Franchise is filled with titles that will put you in a tough spot against the environment and other players. However, there are many other titles that will challenge you against the environment and other players. Warhammer Vermintide 2, you’ll face one of the greatest challenges alongside your brothers-in-arms.
In this sequel to the equally challenging first game, you’ll be alongside three other players as you choose one of five heroes to control. Then, you’ll venture out into a realm overrun by the Chaos Army and the Skaven.
Your only defense is you. You must defeat these beasts. The realm will follow you if you are defeated. Choose your warrior and train them to fight for the Empire.
#10 Diablo 3
Many of you hope, without a doubt, that Diablo 4 All previous entries will be included in the game. We can’t say if that will be the case, but Diablo 3 You will still face challenges with this title if it is allowed to.
You’ll pick your character class and go through infernal areas full of monsters to fight. You’ll have to take them down, collect items, craft weapons, and explore the reaches of the depths to advance.
It may not be the most popular game in the franchise but it has been updated over the years by Blizzard so you can be sure that you’re getting the best possible version.
#9 The Forest
After a plane accident, you may think that the only danger is the elements. However, you would be mistaken on this front.
In The Forest Every night, there are cannibalistic mutations. When they come out, they’ll hunt you down.
During the day, you should search for supplies and create a shelter that you can live in. You can either hide in your shelter, or face the mutants head on to survive the night.
These challenges can be approached in many ways. But, remember that you must still survive.
#8 Conan Exiles
If you’ve ever wanted to see what it was like to be in the realm of Conan The Barbarian, here is your chance.
Conan Exiles features your custom avatar being saved by Conan himself, but he’s not there to help you; he just frees you. With a second chance at your life, you will have to venture into the harsh world to find a way out.
This is where survival is difficult. The environment will kill you as hard as any monster! Either fight for what you have or team up with other players to make a pack capable destroying any foe. Only the strong survive in this world.
#7 Elden Ring
Elden Ring only came out this year, but it’s made quite an impression on fans and critics of the title.
The game places you in a world with gods and monsters, where the Elden Ring must still be assembled. But let’s face it, you don’t play these titles for the lore and story, as you usually have to figure that out yourself.
As with previous From Software games, the game will test you. This time you will be able to face the challenges and explore the huge world. You can also take on these challenges at your own pace. Make sure you have the best character build possible and go out to save the planet.
#6 Warframe
In Warframe, you’re put in the middle of a galactic war as a being infused with a special exosuit. The best part is that you get to choose which Exosuit suits you like.
Every Warframe is unique. There are more than 50. Some can use swords to slash through anything, while others can knock out a meteor with one punch. You’ll want to test them all and then equip them with one of 500 insane weapons to further their power. The MMO is constantly updated and offers a wide range of players to play alongside or against.
Oh, and it’s completely free to play.
#5 Destiny 2
Bungie was the first to make it. Destiny You could do something you could control to create a new experience inside. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out the way they wanted, so they tried again with Destiny 2. While that also didn’t go as they wished, you can see the improvements within the game even now.
You’ll once again play as a Guardian. However, this time there are new threats that you must face. They will test everything around and your abilities as Guardian.
Whether you team up with other players to take down events happening in the world or go it alone to face the dangers solo, you’ll have a lot to do here.
The game is nearing the end of its content run so this is the ideal time to grab it and start playing.
#4 ARK: Survival Evolved
This is a great PVE experience that mixes PVP gameplay with it. ARK: Survival Evolved This will leave you on an isolated island without a home. But, then, you’ll have to build yourself into someone who can fight off the dangers that the island inherently has.
Obviously, you won’t be alone as other players will be stranded on the island too, and some won’t be friendly to you. Start by crafting a weapon, and then increase your technology level to create better items. It is not as easy as you think, so be prepared for anything.
Even if it’s a person charging you while on the back of a dinosaur, yes, that can happen here.
#3 7 Days to Die
Some games on this list may not be strictly PVE-friendly, but others do. 7 Days to Die This is not one.
The game places you in a vast world and requires you to survive. What are you trying survive in this world? All things, human and undead.
You’ll have to scavenge for supplies, get weapons, and fight back against anything you see approaching you. You have two options: you can work with others, or run from the sight of them.
Multiple biomes exist in this game’s world, so explore what is there and see if you can survive.
#2 Monster Hunter World
One point, the Monster Hunter Japan was the only country that valued franchise. They saw the potential in these games and could see what they could do regarding their challenge. Then, Sony and Capcom put forth a concerted effort in order to make things better. This led to the birth of Monster Hunter World.
This expansive title was the one that broke through the barriers and brought Western players into the series. You’ll be in a massive world full of terrifying monsters you’re tasked with taking down alone or with other players. You can collect materials and items as you kill them to make new weapons and armor, so you can take down the next monster.

#1 Borderlands Series
It might seem odd to find the Borderlands Series at the top spot, but we found it appropriate since there ain’t no rest for the wicked.
You will be able to travel to Pandora’s vaults and other places by playing the games. The ENORMOUS range of weapons available will make you a total destruction.
Seriously, you’ll have no problem finding a weapon that suits you in these games. Pick your character class and create your own to see how crazy these worlds can be.
