CD Projekt Red confirmed that The Witcher 3 will finally get a photo mode with its PS5 or Xbox Series X upgrades.
The Witcher 3’s photo mode has never been available despite some of the most Instagrammable sunsets ever created. The Witcher 3’s new-generation update will include a number of new features, including ray tracing, various visual upgrades, and a photo mode.
Today’s The Witcher 3 new generation reveal stream featured the popular photo mode. This allows us to see features such as tilt, FOV slider, tilt camera movement, depth-of-field, autofocus, aperture distance, focus distance, and other effects and overlays that can be used to frame our perfect shots.
In revealing the photo mode, CDPR senior community manager Amelia “Lilayah” Kołat said that the developers “know from Cyberpunk [2077] You guys are incredible with that,” and that “with The Witcher it is possible to create something extraordinary.” Kolat teased that there was a Witcher 3 photo contest, but did not add any details.
The Witcher 3’s new-gen port and newly revealed photo mode should hold players over while they wait for the new Witcher trilogy, the Witcher Remake, a standalone Witcher title codenamed Sirius, and if there happens to be some Cyberpunk crossover in their interests, the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Phantom Liberty and the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel codenamed Orion. Oh, and there’s a whole new IP codenamed Hadar on the way.
The Witcher 3’s updated version launches December 14.
It’s hard to keep up with all that, so here’s our guide. CD Projekt Red games.
