The first episode featured participants in the show putting on motion capture suits and entering their avatars into a virtual landscape. There, avatars interacted with each other, participated in games and performed on the virtual stage.
“Memoon Land” APP was released to accompany the show. It is a virtual interactive space that allows users to experience a completely immersive viewing experience, with integrated social components. The app allows viewers not only to join the show’s participants in their adventures, but also to interact with other viewers and even buy show-inspired merchandise.
Memoon Player showcased a seamless transition between the virtual and real worlds, which was enabled by an array of virtual production technologies, including virtual shooting, virtual games, XR, and holography. The production team included 110 engineers and more than 50 visual artists. Over 60 animators were involved in the creation of the show. The team created a motion capture studio with help from some of the most respected optical motion capture equipment in the industry. It can capture the movements of up to eight avatars simultaneously, and the points of capture for each one exceed a thousand. In collaboration with leading industry players such as Baidu VR, QIYU VR, Qualcomm and Baidu, the team installed over 20 workstations that allow for real-time rendering of UE and virtual human skeletal orientation.
