Microsoft had a disappointing 2022 with virtually no new Xbox One first-party release. The disappointment was compounded by the fact that Microsoft had almost nothing to present at The Game Awards. Forza Motorsport, Redfall, And Starfield They are due to be out by 2023.
In the near future, however, we may be seeing some Xbox announcements. In an article published on Windows Central, journalist Jez Corden claims to have heard “tentative” and “unverifiable” rumours that Microsoft is planning an event in Q1 of 2023, which will allegedly be similar in nature to previous X0 events (the last of which happened before the pandemic in 2019), and could feature new announcements and updates on upcoming titles.
Recently, Xbox exec Aaron Greenberg said amidst widespread disappointment over Microsoft’s no-show at The Game Awards that the company had “a lot planned to show and share about an incredibly exciting year ahead for 2023”, and that fans wouldn’t have to “wait too long” to get more details on that front. This is because Forza Motorsport, Redfall, And Starfield All three of these titles are currently set to launch in 2023’s first half. Microsoft will likely want to ramp up marketing for them in the coming weeks and month. There are also upcoming Xbox games like Perfect Dark, Fable And Avowed Fans will be eager to hear from them again as they have not received any updates in a while.
Either way, it does seem like Microsoft will have more to say about Xbox’s immediate future one way or another soon enough, so stay tuned for all the updates.
