Does it matter if artists appear on major video game soundtracks?

Many well-known music artists, both old and new, are creating soundtracks to major video games. The trend appears to be spreading. You can now find several famous voices and specially crafted tunes in some of today’s biggest video game titles.

There are many other examples. We will likely see more stars creating soundtracks for videogames in the future. You may be familiar with Imagine Dragons, an American pop band, and Skrillex, the American music producer and DJ, who created the Kingdom Hearts song Face My Fears. 

Florence + The Machine created a trio song for Final Fantasy XV. These were Too Much is Never Enough and I Will Be. Scottish pop group Chvrches provided the Death Stranding music for the game’s namesake. They will continue to be a big part of video game entertainment. The players seem to love it and have also expressed positive feedback regarding the ability to listen to specific artists.
