JBL’s Quantum gaming headsets are getting a major refresh. JBL’s Quantum 360 and Quantum 910 wireless gaming headphones were announced at CES 2023. They both come in a PlayStation or Xbox version.
JBL is perhaps best known for its speakers but the brand has a wide range of headsets available within the Quantum line. What do the Quantum headsets from JBL have to offer? It’s quite a bit, actually.
The 360 and 910 come with dedicated Xbox and PlayStation versions, each sporting the respective trademark colors. Quantum 910 includes JBL’s own spatial sound solution, QuantumSPATIAL 360. You can also use either Xbox’s Dolby Audio, or PlayStation 3D Audio with both headsets.
Quantum 910 includes 50MM drivers while Quantum 360 has fortyMM drivers. The battery life of the Quantum 910 is reported to be 37 hours, while that of the Quantum 360 is reported at 22 hours. The 910 will retail for £219.99 / $299.95, and the 360 will go for £119.99 / $129.95.
You can purchase either the PlayStation or Xbox version of these headsets. The Xbox versions are compatible with Nintendo Switch and PC. The Xbox versions work with PlayStation. However, the PlayStation versions don’t work with Xbox. This is something you should know if you own both.
The 910 and 360 will both support QuantumSURROUND, while the 910 will support QuantumSPHERE360 on PC. The 910 comes with ANC while the 360 doesn’t. Furthermore, the 910 has a flip up-to-mute microphone with noise suppression.
JBL’s Quantum Engine application on PC can be used to customize your Quantum headsets. You can adjust surround, sidetone and mic settings. These headsets provide everything you would expect from a modern gaming headset. However, they are not yet available for us to evaluate their performance in the real-world.
JBL will be launching the Quantum 910 headset and the Quantum 360 headsets in March. Keep an eye out on JBL’s website. They may not be the most affordable headsets, but JBL’s reputation and the features they offer make them worth your time.
