Steam might soon make it easier to share your games files.
The Valve Steam Deck has been a popular device. It’s a handheld gaming PC that can play modern titles fairly easily. The hardware release was a great success. However, there are still features fans might be interested in. One of those features is a faster way to transfer your Steam game files onto the Valve handheld gaming device. This feature is now available thanks to an update that was spotted by SteamDB creator.
While the Steam Deck is a convenient device if you want to enjoy your PC games on the go, it’s not necessarily seamless when it comes to acquiring your games. When you open your Steam library, it is just like any PC. After following the prompts and signing in to your library, players will need to redownload the games and then install them again. It can take a while, and it all depends on the speed of your Wi Fi connection. There might be an option that allows players to file shares from their PCs.
As reported by PCGamesNIt seems that SteamDB has discovered new code. Pavel Djundik, the creator of SteamDB, revealed that the code would enable players to transfer their video games files from other PCs to the Steam Deck on a nearby network. That might help speed things along for players, but it’s not a feature readily available quite yet. There’s no word yet on when this feature might come out, but we’re sure that this might be a welcomed addition for Steam Deck users.
Currently, gamers can still acquire the Valve Steam Deck, and it doesn’t look to be a piece of hardware that will go away anytime soon. It wasn’t long ago that Steam Deck designers commented on a successor. Essentially, there don’t seem to be any immediate plans to bring out Steam Deck 2, as there would have to be something presented to allow a significant change to the performance level. You can expect Steam Deck to continue being supported and offered by Valve up until then. You can also view our Before You Buy video coverage of the gaming handheld in the embedded video.
