Developer Scavengers Studio revealed last month that it was releasing Season: A Letter To The Future on January 31, and now, just a few weeks ahead of that, the studio has released a gorgeous new story trailer.
The new trailer gives us another glimpse into Season’s painterly world. It also gives us new details about our protagonist: she is documenting the end and final inhabitants of Earth. She strives to capture their final moments in her journal and with her camera, aiming to learn why they’re still around and ultimately, what kept them going. It sounds like an emotional journey.
You can see the trailer for Season: A Letter to The Future below:
Season looks like something special, as you can see. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too much longer to find out because it hits PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on January 31.
Season, which is about the young woman in the trailer, tells the story of her journey to leave her small village and travel the world by bicycle for the first times in her life. She hopes to make memories about this world before a huge cataclysm will end it all.
The trailer shows three new characters. Scavengers Studios also provides additional information:

- KochiYoung boy, ‘Bicycle Tour of the Valley’, is what he takes you on.
- MaytoraThrough her sculptures, a non-professional artist, ‘Outsider Artist’ documents the story of the valley. You’re the only witness to her final piece.
- Easel The last Tieng Valley monk. Easel, who was left behind by his teachers, friends, and is now waiting in isolation for the change of season. There’s nothing to pray for until you arrive.
“This project would not exist without the series of miraculous people who compose our team, who lifted us up and poured their absolute souls into the game,” the game’s creative director Kevin Sullivan and head producer Margherita Siconnino write in a joint statement. “We’re deeply grateful to them and so excited for players to encouter stories and memories from the warmly fading world of Season. Now it’s time to rest, time to call home.”
