Are Educational Online Games Plagiarized?

You probably love online games as a college student. Gamifying tutoring is a popular way for learners to grasp new concepts and reach their academic goals. Technology is rapidly evolving. It has a bright future. To help students make progress, more developers are creating educational titles. Since there’s a huge demand for such games, some developers end up copying educational gaming content. You’ve probably heard of the term ‘plagiarism’ when it comes to academic papers. Have you ever considered plagiarism in the gaming industry?

Plagiarism is a problem in the gaming industry

Plagiarism is a major problem in college and in the gaming industry. Before you submit an essay assignment, make sure you do an online plagiarism check using an online student checker. Plagiarism has been a growing offense across many industries. It is a result of the rapid growth in developers who are able to distribute games across a variety of platforms, including Android, Windows and IOS. There are thousands of companies competing in this market. This eventually leads to copying and accusations of plagiarism.

Gaming world: History of plagiarism

The majority of online titles we see today are based on issues related to copyright and plagiarism. Back in the ’80s, we had simple video games. Cloning wasn’t a huge deal because of limitations in computing power. Congress convened later and ruled all computer software was eligible for copyright. The constitution protected the software, but most people didn’t know the extent of that protection. Most clones and websites that were not licensed continued to exist until the 1983 crash. Since then, these have been the results:

Lots of game studios were closed – Poorly and hastily made titles led to this crash. The crash also led to the closing of many studios that were involved in copying.

Enhanced lockout control – Nintendo Entertainment System was one of the major gaming developers that embraced enhanced lockout technology to prevent unlicensed developers from creating software using their platform. Although the online gaming industry has seen rapid growth, it was still plagued by plagiarism.

Gaming plagiarism is on the rise.

The gaming industry hasn’t changed entirely from the one we had back in the 80s. Although a large portion of the industry is controlled and consolidated, emerging markets like mobile and social media share many similarities with the 1982 market. Many clones exist that push boundaries and are successful in mobile and social media games. Angry Birds, for example, has many clones like Angry Animals or Angry Farms. When the market reaches such a point, it’s not just the people who clone that suffer but also developers.

Plagiarism: The consequences

Educational gamification plays an important role – to help learners understand key concepts and make progress in school. Education is at the heart of everything in an individual’s life. Learning via the internet and gadgets is easy for most learners.

Plagiarism is a problem that makes it hard for learners to get their education and land the job they want. It’s a unethical problem that can be very difficult to fix. When the market suffers, it’s not just the cloners who lose but also developers and students. Copying other people’s ideas doesn’t pay. People will be able to achieve their goals if they are able to come up with better learning methods and original ideas. Learners will also embrace new methods of learning and remembering concepts. Everyone is responsible for the consequences of poorly developed or copied educational online gaming products being released onto the market. This issue can be controlled by students and tutors. They can also visit the right website to play their favorite games. Clones often copy websites from the original, so ensure you only use URL links provided by a trusted online developer.

Conclusion

Technology is changing at an alarming rate. And there’s a huge demand for online games in the market today. Like academic papers, online educational titles are also affected by plagiarism. Plagiarism is defined as the act of copying other peoples’ ideas and presenting them as your own. Many people take the ideas of well-respected game developers and create their own version. They seek to reap what they did not sow. There are serious consequences for doing this. The best way to fix this problem is to use the correct URL link to your favorite games. If there is no demand for online cloning education games, then they won’t exist.
