Duckeyyy guides Bren Esports to cap an impressive run, which saw it beat Echo, newly crowned world champ, in GameLab at the end of the Sibol team qualifiers
MANILA, Philippines – Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro will call the shots for the Philippines’ Mobile Legends team in the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia after Bren Esports topped the Sibol qualifiers.
Bren Esports ended an impressive run which saw it defeat Echo, the newly-crowned world champion, with a dominant win of 2-0 over GameLab on Sunday January 22, 2018. This earned Duckeyyyy the right to be Sibol’s head coach.
Duckeyyy is the man who will lead Sibol to a third straight Mobile Legends Gold Medal in the SEA Games. He brings with him a wealth of experience in international competition.
Duckeyyy led the Indonesian squad EVOS Legends to victory in the M1 World Championship 2019 and he steered Bren Esports towards the M2 crown 2021.
Bren Esports was also awarded its first and sole title in the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines, Season 6, with Duckeyyy at helm.
His leadership was crucial in Bren Esports’ win. They dropped only one game in the final stage, beating Minana Esports by 2-0 and AP Esports by 2-1. Echo won the semifinals by a 2-1 score.
Led by former SEA Games champion Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, Bren Esports then made quick work of GameLab in their best-of-three finale.
Unlike the previous SEA Games in which the entire Blacklist International team represented the country, this year’s Sibol Squad will be a selection from players from the top 4 qualifiers including Echo and Onic Philippines.
Without the power duo of Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie James “Wise” del Rosario, Blacklist International failed to make the cut for the Sibol selection after bowing to Onic Philippines in the quarterfinals.
The SEA Games will host six esports events in May: Mobile Legends and League of Legends Wild Rift. Crossfire, Valorant, Valorant, Valorant, Attack Online. – Rappler.com
