Ar…you are getting a refund!
Ubisoft has been the focus of negative attention for many reasons. However, the biggest reason people are talking about right now is the recent delay of Skull and Bones. We’re saying “most recent delay” because the game has been delayed many times since its first announcement trailer years ago. The keyword is “years ago.” The pirate game was to be the ultimate pirate series in concept—one where you could sail the seas and live a pirate’s life in many forms. However, despite progress on the title, Ubisoft delayed it once again, and that’s where the new twist in the story comes in.
Previously, the game was supposed to arrive in March, but now it doesn’t have a release date. If you look up the “new release date,” it’ll give you a release window of a year. That means it could come out in 2024 if it doesn’t get delayed again.
This is a major blow to gamers as many were eager to finally get their hands on this pirate-themed adventure. The video showed outposts as well as how you can divide your crew to complete a challenge. But now, if you go to the PlayStation store, you won’t even be able to pre-order the game. Multiple gamers have posted that they’ve received refunds from the PlayStation Store for the title. The ones who made the posts noted that they were surprised by this and made it clear that they didn’t ask for a refund.
Reddit users even asked one another if the game would still be out, based on their refund.
The mystery goes deeper as the “Deluxe Edition” of the game is completely removed from the store. You can find the PlayStation by going to the PlayStation and typing up. Skull and Bones, you’ll only see the base title, and you’ll only be able to “Wishlist” it. This is why? There’s no explanation yet by either Ubisoft or Sony, but that’s not a good look for the game.
This incident can be added to the many woes Ubisoft has been experiencing. In the main incident, another Ubisoft title was involved. Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of HopeUbisoft’s CEO, David Ubisoft, stated that December and January were disappointing. He then said that other projects had been cancelled or delayed due to this.
Developers were also called out by the CEO, which, although he apologised, left the company with a bad taste.
