STMN Esports wins Snapdragon Pro Series Brawl Stars from DreamHack San Diego
Fresh off his squad’s win, cutesans took some time to talk to us about the importance of events like DreamHack San Diego.
How does it feel to win this major event?
cutesans: It’s a huge win for the team. We’re finally having some success after having a rough first few months. We’re excited and all happy to be here and we’re having a great time.
The match was then rearranged in the Finals after you had lost. What was it like to go through such a difficult run?
We felt confident as all sets were very close, and we believed we could make it today.
What does it mean for you to be at DreamHack’s massive in-person event?
It’s great. You get to see everyone you’ve ever talked to and there’s so many nice people.
It was a great showcase of Brawl Stars. What do you think?
Mobile gaming is an amazing experience. It’s something everybody can pick up. It’s really fun. It’s a great experience and I would highly recommend it.
You said on stage earlier that you’re the aggressive player on the team.
When I first started playing Brawl Stars, I didn’t like being boring and passive. I like to get things done. Me and my teammates, I told them I’m gonna keep running it down so hold it down and we’ll figure it out.
How did you become so successful at BrawlStars?
I was a beta player, and just spent a lot of time playing and grinding the game. I am always learning something new.
It is amazing to think that it could reach this level.
Yeah!
That was your goal?
I’ve always loved video games, especially mobile games.
You think mobile games are as legitimate as PC games as an esport?
Mobile games are as difficult as console and PC games. All it takes is skill. It’s how you play.
What do you think about DreamHack Japan?
I’m stoked for Japan. I’ve never been outside the country or anything. I’m excited to play with them in a new world.
You just defeated Tribe Gaming in the Finals but they’re also going to DreamHack Japan. Do you look forward to continuing your rivalry in Japan with Tribe Gaming?
In Japan we’ll be running at them too. We’re gonna take our time, learn our drafts, and come back even stronger in Japan.
