What is the hype surrounding Dead Island 2?
Dead Island’s original trailer was infamous for its somber tone, but the game delivered a lot of fun and gore in 2011. The open-world RPG elements brought a novel sense of depth and progression to what could’ve been a mindless experience. Techland, the original developers of Dead Island 2, went on and made Dying Light – a series of open world zombie action video games. Dead Island 2 had been announced in 2014. However, we have to wait for the true sequel this year, since it bounced around between developers. The final version is from Dambuster Studios who made Homefront: The Revolution.

Dead Island 2 is now available on the Play Store.
Dead Island 2 works with mouse and keyboard as well as controllers on PC. That pairs well with the game’s first-person shooter elements. The game isn’t available on Steam, so we don’t know how well it will run on Steam Deck. Still, with some effort, you can play non-Steam games on Valve’s portable gaming pc.
