You may have wondered about the taste of your favorite foods. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet FamilyMart is the Japanese convenience store chain that has all the answers to Pokemon starters.
The 16,500 FamilyMart shops in Japan will begin selling three “Pokemon Frappes” on April 25. Each one is linked to a Pokemon Scarlet & Violet starter, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
The price is 350 yen including taxes ($2.60 at the current exchange rate), and funnily, each also comes with a bit of Pikachu in the form of touches of yellow. FamilyMart introduced Pikachu’s “Pikachu Pineapple Frappe”, which was launched last summer. Clearly, this experiment was a hit and FamilyMart is now doubling-down on it.
Sprigatito’s milkshake will be muscat grape flavored, Fuecoco’s will be strawberry banana, and Quaxly’s will feature a popping Lamune soda flavor with pieces of pineapple pulp.
Two stores in Tokyo, (Sunshine City West & Sumida Oshiage Station), and one in Osaka, (Namba Sennichimaedori), will be decorated as part of the celebration.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is currently available exclusively for Nintendo Switch and just got a substantial update fixing many of its issues, while a DLC has been announced and will feature a new mysterious Pokemon. Pokemon Sleep is also coming this summer and Pokemon Stadium is coming to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service later this month.
If you’re interested in the franchise beyond games, we also saw the reveal of a new Pokemon Jet in Japan, operated by ANA.
