Since its release in early 2000s, The Sims has enjoyed an enormous success. There haven’t yet been any serious competitors. The Sims is a unique game, but the life simulation genre continues to thrive. The Sims allows you to create your own “Sim”, build a house for it, interact with others Sims and live the life of your dreams. The players orchestrate their Sims’ mundane daily activities and their success depends on their decisions. Although nothing can compare to the full Sims experience here are some games that we think will appeal to fans of The Sims.
You can also play The Sims 4 free of charge, so that’s the best option if you just want to get your hands on the latest Sims title.
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley immediately comes to mind because it is a great life simulator. Stardew Valley is a charming town with plenty to do but focuses primarily on enjoying your character’s life to the fullest by becoming a successful farmer in a pixelated countryside. The game offers a wide range of activities, such as farming, decorating your home and wooing the characters that live there, fighting monsters within the caves nearby, fishing and much more. There are so many secrets and elements to this RPG that will keep you entertained. It has an achievement system. So if you like to finish everything that is possible in a game then this one is for you. ConcernedApe’s developer has continuously updated the games since its launch, so that there’s always new content. There is also a vibrant modding community to keep the game going.
Eric Baron revealed that Haunted Chocolatier will be his next title. This game should have the same feel as Stardew Valley.
Animal Crossing New Horizons
In this simulation game, you are able to build the home of your dreams on an island that is completely deserted. You can unlock several decorating options through gameplay. With multiplayer, you can celebrate holidays and give gifts to your friends, family and villagers. You will be able to create the island of your dreams once you have completed all story quests. Terraforming will let you shape cliffs, water, and other features. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was special in the early days of the pandemic because it had daily tasks like completing the Critterpedia (by catching bugs and fishing), crafting DIY recipes and improving your house.
SimCity
SimCity may be the oldest of the games on this list. It was the first to release, and it’s still available for desktop PCs. In this simulation, you are the mayor and can choose whether to build an airport, stadium, university, or other features. Although you cannot control your Sims directly in this game, you have a huge impact on their daily lives. It is up to you create a city without natural disasters or commuter hell. You can’t put your Sim in the pool or lock them in a room where a stove is on fire. But you can let them live their lives in a city that they love or make it a place in which they regret moving.
Skylines: Cities
This simulator is similar to SimCity in that it focuses on creating a metropolis where your Sims can live, rather than controlling them directly. Cities: Skylines, a more recent game (released 2015), has had an ongoing stream of DLC updates and base game updates. The modding community has also continued to produce amazing content. This includes custom assets, vehicles and buildings, as well as gameplay adjustments that increase (or decrease!) the difficulty. Even bug fixes can improve performance. Urban planning is possible by controlling the zoning of an area, as well as its taxation, services and transportation. This simulator is perfect for those who enjoy building and designing. You can create amazing cities in this game. In fact, you can even build replicas of actual cities if that’s what you want. This game is perfect for those who are overwhelmed by Sims, and prefer to build cities from scratch.
Rumors have it that Cities: Skylines 2 may be arriving soon.
Planet Zoo

You can choose from four different modes, each with its own unique set of challenges: Career mode, Franchise mode, Sandbox mode and Challenge mode.
House Flipper
House Flipper combines all the decorating fun you’ve had with The Sims or Animal Crossing into one game. You can renovate the homes of clients according to a budget. Milestones are set up along the way for you to learn new skills, such as installing ceiling lights and replacing broken appliances. You can eventually make enough money working with clients to buy your own home and renovate it to sell for a profit.
The new House Flipper 2 will be released in the third quarter of 2023.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
The powerful customization tools in this life simulation game allow you to create the perfect character, home and town. The game offers a variety of hobbies like gardening, fishing and foraging materials for crafting. You will need to complete some quests in order to unlock the Dreamlight Valley recipes.
Bella Goth, a character from the Sims universe that is well-known to fans of the game will make an appearance in Dreamlight Valley. Disney Dreamlight Valley is not a romantic relationship, marriage, or child-rearing game. Dreamlight Valley does not have this aspect of The Sims.
