E3 used to be the biggest videogame event in the summer. That time has long passed. Summer Game Fest is the big event of summer these days Opens in a new tab Geoff Keighley, the organizer, revealed today when and with which companies this year’s show will commence.
The 2023 Summer Game Fest starts at 12pm PT/3pmET on June 8th, and for the very first time it will be a live event at the YouTube Theater Inglewood in California.

Tickets are now available at Ticketmaster if you want to see the event live. Opens a new window—and if not, the whole thing will also be streamed globally on pretty much every major streaming platform, including YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram and Steam.
Keighley explained that Summer Game Fest was created to connect videogame companies and fans online during the pandemic. “Now that it’s possible, we are excited to gather together in-person with fans at the stunning, state-of-the art YouTube Theater this June.”

Indie games will be the focus of the Summer Game Fest immediately after. Day of the Devs: SGF Edition Opens in a new tab livestream, which will feature games from AdHoc Studio, Die Gute Fabrik, Evil Licorice, Geometric Interactive, Heart Machine, iam8bit Presents, Impossible, Land & Sea, Lululu Entertainment, Moonloop Games, Phantom Coast, Sad Owl Studios, Shape Shop, Studio Sai and Wishes Unlimited.
Summer Game Fest won’t be the only online event in June.
