Hollow Knight: SilksongThe sequel to critically acclaimed 2D Platforming Game Hollow KnightThe original launch window of the first half 2023 has been changed.
The game created by South Australian studio Team Cherry is still under development. The studio’s publishing and marketing manager Matthew Griffin took to Twitter Spread the word.
‘We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing,’ he said. ‘We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.’
First announced in 2019 Hollow Knight: Silksong The game has been kept under wraps despite a playable demonstration being present at E3 2019 In June 2022 the game was featured in the Xbox and Bethesda Game Showcase with a brand new trailer, and confirmation that the Xbox Game Pass service would be the launch platform.

Xbox’s messaging with this showcase was that every game it featured would be playable in the next year. This implied that Hollow Knight Silksong would release before June 2023, which reflects Griffin’s statement.
The original Hollow Knight The project began on Kickstarter, where it raised just over AUD 57,000 from over 2000 supporters. The game was released to critical acclaim in 2017, and has sold over 2.8 million copies globally as of 2019.
Silksong The game was initially intended as an expansion to the original. However, it became a standalone title. It retains its 2D MetroidThe structure of Hollow Knight Hornet, a new character is introduced. Crafting is a new feature in SilksongThis will enable Hornet to collect materials to create weapons and tools.
