If you’re looking for Genshin Impact Phantasmal Sesame Seed Locations, you’re already deep into the anime game’s Sumeru region, released during the 3.0 update. Arana is an NPC from Vanarana that will assist you in awakening Strange Arches otherwise known as Phantasmal Gates.
You will find Vanarana, home to the Tree of Dreams, when you complete the World of Aranara quest. When you reach Vanarana’s outskirts, you will find the first Strange Arch. Once you have completed the quest, you will be able to play the Lyre and begin your first challenge of collecting these Phantasmal seed. It will be easier to collect all Genshin Impact Phantasmal seeds if you know the location of the remaining gates.
How to complete Strange Arch Quests
Before you embark on your Phantasmal-Seeking Adventure and enter your first Strange Arch, there are some things that you need to know. First, each Phantasmal Seed challenge will have a timer. The timer begins as soon as you enter the gate. Green Phantasmal seeds will appear in front you and take you on a prescribed path. Follow the instructions, gather each seed, and return the gate before time runs out.
You will encounter enemies along your route and this can make your life difficult. You should avoid these enemies. You will be greeted by large, blue Dream Flowers. If you enter their immediate area, they will forget you.
As you follow your timed course, remember that each seed you gather adds seconds to the timer. You should be able to complete each task within the time limit provided you avoid any enemies. You’ll know how you’re doing from the “Particles Collected” counter on the left hand side of the screen. If you’re struggling to find them, you can use an attack on a Dream Flower to reveal their location.
All Phantasmal Seed Locations
Phantasmal Gate 1
You will be taken to the first Phantasmal Gate once you have collected the Vintage Lyre from Grandpa Amadhiah – it’s at the entrance to Vanarana, north of Vissudha field. If you haven’t unlocked Vanarana yet, the marker initially appears in a greyed out area on your map.
Phantasmal Gate 2
Lokapala Jungle, Mawtiyima Forest houses the Phantasmal Plants. This is also where they are located second. You will need the Four-LeafSigils nearby to locate these seeds.
Phantasmal Gate 3
Gate 3 is located north of Avidya Forest, near Sumeru City. This gate starts right near the water. This time trial can be difficult to complete. You will need to go to the river area to the east of the city. Instead of running a course, you will be using your wings to propel yourself up and down towards each seed. They’re all contained within a small area, though, so you won’t have to go far.
Phantasmal Gate 4
The fourth gate can be found to the east east of Pardis Dahyai. Zoom in on the map to see a small island at the center of the lake. This is the Strange Arch. This one is very easy, since the seeds can be seen floating above the lily pads.
Phantasmal Gate 5
- 1. Access to the area
- 2. Underground location of the gate
You can find the next Phantasmal Gateway just to the west, near the old one. It’s hidden so it may not immediately be apparent. There’s a cave entrance on the west edge of the lake which will take you underground. Use the bounce pads to scale down the waterfall at the end of the cave. To light an elemental totem, you will need to continue following the cave. Continue on to the gate, which is located in the middle of the clearing. Do note that three of this challenge’s seeds are close to an enemy fungi. Again, don’t bother to engage as it will use up your time.
Phantasmal Gate 6
- 1. Access to the area
- 2. Underground location of the gate
The Strange Arch can also be found near the other two. However, you will need to complete another challenge in order to find it. To lower the water level at the sixth Phantasmal Gateway, you must remove all Stone Pillar Seals. You will find the entrance to this area on the Pardis Dhyai’s western side. Follow the underground to the eastern side to locate the gate, which is hidden in an area of overgrowth.
Phantasmal Gate 7
To the north of Ashavan Realm is Phantasmal Gate seven. Take a look at this image to get a better idea. It is easy to find the Phantasmal seed, as they are collected in groups of five. Dream Flowers can be used to locate the locations of Phantasmal Seeds if you have trouble.
Phantasmal Gate 8
You will find the eighth challenge to the north in the canyon at Devantaka Mountain, north from Ardravi Valley. You won’t find the gate at the bottom, but you should spot it on a small ledge which you can glide to from higher up. Don’t forget to activate the nearby waypoint in case you need to come back here. Once you’ve activated the Phantasmal Gate glide down to reach the canyon’s floor where you will find the Phantasmal Plants.
Phantasmal Gate 9
- 1. Access to the area
- 2. Underground location of the gate
Stay in the Devantaka Mountain region for this Strange Arch, which is located to the south east of the Giant Ruin Guard’s arm. To glide down into a deep ravine and find the Phantasmal Gate, use Four-Leaf Signils. Again, this is a simple challenge. You can use the Phantasmal seeds in five groups to navigate down to the bottom of a ravine. To mark their locations, you can use the nearby Dream Flowers.
Phantasmal Gate 10
The previous Phantasmal Gate led you to the Devantaka Mountain’s deepest parts, but this gate takes you to its highest reaches, just slightly north. You’ll easily spot the gate standing out in the open at the very top of the lush, green mountain.
Phantasmal Gate 11
The last Phantasmal Gate can be found to the west, in the Sumeru Region, south of the Ashavan Realm. There’s a mountain with a waypoint on top of it from which you can glide to find the gate directly below you to the south. Although the final challenge is quite simple, it requires that you use a combination air streams and bounce pads to collect all 15 seeds and return to the gate.
You should be able to solve this Sumeru puzzle easily now that you have the location of the Phantasmal Seeds and their gates in Genshin Impact. Once you’ve completed all 11, return to Vanarana to investigate the first Phantasmal Gate. Here, you can claim the Phantasmal Furnishing. Once you’re done, put your other rewards to good use wishing on current Genshin Impact banners, and check our tier list to see where new Sumeru characters sit.
