The list for the Google Play Best Games Of 2022 is out, with Android’s official app store giving its lineup for the best of the best on Google Play. This year’s selection is bound to cause controversy and disagreement, so prepare to be delighted, infuriated, or both.

Rocket League Sideswipe Is King In Users’ Choice

User’s Choice is Rocket League Sideswipe, a reworking of the chaotic car soccer classic for a 2D plane and set up for quick matches. What’s not to like?

Apex Legends Mobile has won the overall Google Play Best Games Of 2022 award for Best Game. This isn’t a huge surprise. It’s beautiful and offers a similar experience to other games.

Apex is not the Best Multiplayer title winner, but Dislyte takes that award. The stylish turn-based RPG does feature online battles, though many gamers didn’t appear overjoyed at the selection.

The Best Pick up and Play award went to Angry Birds Journey. This is the latest installment in the inescapable series of mobile games. Silly physics puzzles are always popular, and this one has already been downloaded over ten millions of times.

Old Faces, Industry Giants, And Indie Darlings

Dicey Dungeons is an imaginative and charming deck builder who won the Best Indie award. This is an exceptional experience that Terry Cavanaugh, creator of VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV’s 2010 indie gem, created. It’s fun, fast, and offers a ton of play styles.

The title of Best Story landed with Inua – A Story In Ice And Time. This narrative adventure combines three stories from different times periods and confronts the dark fate of the Franklin Expedition in the Arctic. 

Genshin Impact is the Best Ongoing winner. This game is technically outstanding and you will love it or hate it depending on how much you like anime tropes. Lots of free content to enjoy if it’s your thing, though.
