Asmodee Digital unveils a new name and two new games

Asmodee Digital, the digital arm to tabletop giant Asmodee has announced it will rebrand as Twin Sails Interactive. Twin Sails Interactive also announced two new projects along with its new name: a news management game for news tycoons and a 2D platformer in physics.

That’s right. Twin Sails explained that the rebrand was a result of an evolution of its original vision and identity in a press statement. Instead of publishing digital Asmodee boardgames, the studio wants to concentrate on original projects. Nicolas Godement, COO, will take over as the studio’s managing direct and will attempt to blend “indie and AAA titles on premium platform”, i.e. Both consoles and PC. Twin Sails has also announced two exciting new projects in order to promote that strategy.

Physics platformer is the first project. Amberial DreamsThe game is coming to PC via Steam Early Access this autumn. Lumorama says that the game lets you play as a sphere, which moves through various “wicked levels”. It’ll be the fifth game in the series. Amberia Flash series, but this one’s heading to Steam as well. Twin Sails’ second project is News TowerThe Steam version of, also available via Early Access, will arrive in 2023. This is a news and resource management game in which you have to build a news empire during a 1930s economic and political crisis. What other happenings in Asmodee’s world?

Asmodee Digital’s rebranding as Twin Sails Interactive is a timely move for the tabletop company. Embracer Group bought Asmodee last December. It appears that the group is buying up companies right now. The studio is also hard at work on its new Access+ tabletop accessibility studio as well as its recently-announced line of official Netflix board games. As Asmodee’s main company expands its tabletop offerings, Twin Sails-slash Asmodee Digital may be looking to diversify into original content to show that Asmodee is not a one-trick-pony.
