Sadly, the game didn’t perform that well and received a mixed review from critics and a negative response from gamers due to glitches, lack of features, and more, yet, it managed to sell over 4.3 million copies in the first week.
The developers have a new game in mind, Battlefield 2042 season 2.

Battlefield 2042 Season 2 – New map, weapons, gameplay, story, and more
Battlefield 2042 season 2’s map is named Stranded, which is set in Panama Canal, featuring a desert lake fully drained of water. The trailer starts with a voiceover followed by players fighting around and inside a beached container ship named “STARG.”
Charlie Crawford, a new Specialist, is shown in the trailer with a mounted, stationary minigun. This can be used to control any soldier on the battlefield and can be planted anywhere. He can also recharge and revive players, as well as refill their ammunition and gadgets.
Battlefield 2042 Season 2 – New Features
Battlefield 2042 season 2, which will include a variety of new weapons, vehicles, and other items, is a great example of the new stuff. Let’s start with weapons –
Battlefield 2042 season 2 will be having three new guns that include –
- AM40 Carbine – It is a completely new gun that stands between an assault rifle (AR) and a submachine gun. This gum allows you to modify the firing style, add enhancements and more.
- Avancy – It is a light machine gun. There is no further information available about this gun.
- PF41 – It is a combination of an SMG and a hand pistol.
Concussion grenades will be available in the game to temporarily confuse your enemies.
Battlefield 2042 season 2 is also going to have new vehicles that include –
- EBLC-RAM – It is a four-seater vehicle that can also be used as a spawn point if the player places a beacon on it.
- Polaris RZR – It is a lightweight buggy.
Battlefield 2042 season 2 also introduces Assignments, a new feature. The concept of this feature isn’t new, but it tracks your progress and unlocks new weapons that are only available through the Battlefield Portal.
There are currently only two weapons that can unlocked, which include M60E3 and M16A3. However, Battlefield promised that they would add more in future. This Assignments feature, which can be used to unlock vehicles and weapons as well as Specialist characters, is also available in season 1. I think this is the best thing.

What’s more in the game?
The game’s developers understood that the game was unable to succeed due to its new experiment. Developers said, however, that “they are learning from the struggles and will apply those lessons to make the upcoming Battlefield game better.”
A reworked version was even released by Kaleidoscope, which stated, “Kaleidoscope has been reworked to offer an improved gameplay flow through new cover assets, flag positions, terrain elevations, and visual updates to several locations on the map.”
In addition to that, the game studio also announced their plans for the season 3 update saying, “The arrival of Specialists to Battlefield 2042 was a significant event. We’ve listened to you. So, in Season 3, we’ll be moving Specialists into the classic and familiar Battlefield class system..”
Alexia Christofi (the producer of the game) added more. “They’ll have traits available to all Specialists within a given class, with existing open gadgets and throwables split between classes to fit their role.”
Final Words – What do you think about Battlefield 2042 Season 2?
Season 1 of Battlefield 2042 disappointed me. I look forward to season 2. It looks very promising from the trailer, as well as other elements. And, most importantly, it is exactly what we have come to expect from Dice or EA.
