Netflix’s Cobra Kai will return on September 9th with more intense karate action. Daniel Larusso and his crew are ready to fight for their lives as well as the survival of the valley. The Emmy-winning series will introduce more characters from Karate Kid’s franchise, as shown in the first photos.
Netflix has released the trailer for Season 5, which shows Daniel (Ralph Macchio), trying get Johnny (William Zabka), back. Since our last time seeing him, he had left karate behind in order to focus on his past wrongs. Check out the trailer below.
It’s difficult to take in this show, especially with the rapid formation and dissolution of alliances. Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffth), is back as an 80’s villain, looking to rule the valley with dojos all over the region. John Kreese (Martin Kove) has become a prison brawler, and Robby (Tanner Buchanan) and Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) square off like never before.
Although Netflix has not yet approved Cobra Kai Season 6, showrunners Josh Heald (and Jon Hurwitz) have previously stated that they have plans for the show beyond Season 5. Hurwitz stated previously that the creative team behind the show wanted at least six seasons for the finale.
Season 5 will feature Courtney Henggeler (returning), Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand and Gianni Decenzo. Vanessa Rubio, Peyton List and Dallas Dupree Young, Oona O’Brien and Griffin Santopietro are all back.
Before Season 5 launches globally September 9, you can still catch the previous seasons on Netflix.
