Bandai Namco today announced that Dragon Ball Z : Kakarot will get a new-gen console upgrade as well as DLC expansions. S and Xbox One.|S versions of the game will be revealed in time, and Bandai Namco added that all previously available and upcoming DLC will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC simultaneously.
The fourth DLC expansion will be about Goku’s father Bardock. It is also the first of three new campaigns included in Season Pass 2. Based on the 1990 animated video Bardock – Father of Goku Bardock : Alone Against Fate is a story about the Saiyan race fighting against the clock in order to save planet Vegeta. Bandai Namco stated that this DLC would be a complete replica of the classic story. It will include interactions between missions and interactions with Saiyans, and conclude with a decisive battle against Frieza.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was the first season of DLC. It featured a mix of content that was based on the Dragon Ball Super films, and an OVA. The DLC campaigns’ first two episodes were loose adaptations of Battle of Gods arcs. Trunks: Warrior of Hope was set in an alternate timeline, where Android 17 and 18 had decimated the world after Goku died from a heart virus.
Heidi Kemps said in GameSpot’s Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot review, “Dragon Ball Z : Kakarot’s modern, semi open approach to telling DBZ’s saga–despite some minor problems–is a great one.” It’s fun to zoom around and view the environment up close. It’s also great to be able interact with many of the DBZ characters, as well as see stories that are often overlooked for video game adaptations. Although combat can sometimes feel a bit lackluster, big battles are epic and exciting.
