A Foam Dart Battle Royale is coming to Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal Saturday, August 27,
All are welcome to attend the event. members of the family Over six years old, organizers claim they will bring to life Fortnite games. Participants will be able search for chests and collect virtual currency to build shelters.
Participants are asked to bring their blasters and mark any belongings with their names. Organisers say that there will be 30,000 rounds of ammunition on-site and Rival rounds.
Alternative foam dart guns are allowed, but they have to be verified that their models are permitted. Although Nerf MEGAs will be allowed, the organizers of the event have stated that they will not provide ammo to the blaster.
On the event, advertisers said: “FDT are taking over Ocean Terminal Mall on Saturday the 27th of August for Battle Royale Five, where we will be bringing games from the ever popular Fortnite computer game to life. Players will have the opportunity to search for chests, gather v-bucks, and even build covers!
“This event is suitable for everyone aged six and over – Mums and Dads are encouraged to join in!
“Anyone under 14 must have an adult on site and available, either playing or spectating. This event is not a creche. Please don’t take your child to a movie or eat dinner while they are participating in the event.
“Please bring along your blasters (we do not provide these) and make sure you write your name on all blasters and attachments – anything that belongs to you, write your name on it
“Modded blasters are permitted but the Feet Per Second limit is 100fps Max (not average). A chronometer will be available on-site to verify any blasters.
“We have 30,000 darts and also Rival rounds for you so please do not bring any.
“NOTE – Nerf MEGAs are welcome – we will not be providing these so please bring your own ammo and ensure they are marked up as yours!
“Any other type of dart/brand must be discussed in advance – get in touch to avoid disappointment on the night.”
The event will have free parking at the South end Ocean Terminal. Check in opens at 6:45pm. The battle royale will take place between 8:00 and 10:00pm. A safety briefing at 7:30 p.m. is required prior to the event.
Those looking to register will be able to at the Boardwalk roller park in the old “New Look” unit. Organisers ask that everyone ensures that all of their Nerf gear is marked with their name or initials and say that protective eyewear must be worn by all players and that pairs will be on sale at £5 a pop on the night.
