One player shared an important PSA for FFXIV Island Sanctuary to prevent the waste of rare animal spawns in Stardew Valley, a side activity for the highly acclaimed MMORPG. The addition of ‘one of the best farming games’ to Final Fantasy XIV’s list of accolades came as somewhat of a surprise when it arrived as part of the FFXIV 6.2 update, but players have been eagerly grinding away to maximise their island’s potential.
The most exciting part of managing your island is finding the animals you want. These rare creatures include the Black Chocobo and the Dodos of Paradise that are rainbow-coloured.
However, users aiming to hunt down these rare spawns should be aware of one particularly dangerous nuance – which, if you aren’t careful, can lead to a rare spawn being wasted. FlareHeart from Reddit explains that when there is a full roster in your pasture, you will be asked to release one animal to make space for new animals. An animal in care or with materials to be retrieved cannot be released.
In FlareHeart’s case, they had set all of their current animals up with caretakers and a good helping of high-quality feed before going away for the weekend. They then realized that the spawn window of the rare Beachcomb crab was opening in five minutes. Lucky for them, the Beachcomb came to their rescue after they had used up 20 nets. However, to their dismay, they couldn’t keep the tiny crab. All of their creatures had been taken into care and could not be released. The only way they could return to their farm was to release the Beachcomb into the sea.
Many other thread members have reported that they had experienced the same problem. Some claim that they were unable to get Twinklefleeces and Goobbues because of this. FlareHeart is also thanked for their help. Others expressed gratitude, saying they could have easily put themselves in the same situation. It’s possible that Square Enix might look to adjust this in the future, but for now the message is clear – don’t go hunting for FFXIV Island Sanctuary rare spawns with a full stable of animals under care.
