PlayStation confirmed that God Of War Ragnarok was downloaded the most on PlayStation 5 in November 2022. Modern Warfare 2 is also the most downloaded PlayStation 4 game for November 2022.
PlayStation has released the complete ranking of the most downloaded PlayStation games across Europe and North America in a blog post. God of War Ragnarok released last month on November 9th and was able secure the top download spot on the latest console, PlayStation 5.
Even though God Of War was released on the PlayStation 4 as well, sales seem to have been much higher on the console’s newer version. Sony has yet to confirm exact sales figures. Modern Warfare 2 on the other side, however, took a little longer to rise the ranks as it was only released October 22nd. However, it has been receiving numerous updates and new content which has led to it being the most downloaded PS4 game of the month. Both games ranked second in downloads on the other console. Modern Warfare 2 was the most downloaded PS5 title, while God Of War Ragnarok was the most downloaded PS4 title.
The new PlayStation report details the top free-to-play games on both consoles and also lists PS VR downloads. Beat Saber, Superhot VR and Overwatch 2 were the top free-to-play games in the US/Canada.
Modern Warfare 2 received a new DMZ and Warzone 2.0 modes since its October launch. This has helped to increase the game’s popularity post-launch. In the future, there will be more maps and different game modes for the multiplayer. Modern Warfare 2 could also have a free weekend for its multiplayer this month, which could attract new players and help it grow.
Further down, FIFA 23 has had a successful month of November downloads following its September launch. Cyberpunk 2077 was also a notable download success on the PS5 due to continued updates and the new Netflix series.
