New Delhi. Online Gambling Games (i.e. online betting games. In Tamil Nadu, an ordinance was passed to ban online gambling. The governor will sign the ordinance, and then it will be a law. Online gambling will be banned.
This ordinance was drafted and approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu based on a report prepared in part by a retired High court Judge. In June 2022, K Chandru, a retired judge from the High Court, submitted a report to government. The judge stated in that report how online gambling is affecting the youth and children of India.
A retired judge had suggested that the government
After submitting his 71-page report to the government, the retired judge suggested that it ban online gambling. After studying his report, the government considered it and conducted several surveys at different levels to assess the potential impact of online gambling on society. The government conducted surveys in schools, education departments, and via e-mail to collect all the information. These are the games that the government can ban.

Based on the retired judge’s report, the government conducted an investigation and discovered that children and young people are becoming addicted to online gambling sites like rummy. This situation can affect both the mental and physical health of the parents as well as the mental state for children.
This is the second attempt by the Tamil Nadu government to ban online gaming. The Madras High Court rejected the previous request by the government to ban online games.
