According to a new financial report, Microsoft paid $600,000.00 to Big Cheese Studio to purchase Cooking Simulator for Xbox Game Pass.
Deals between Microsoft and publishers/developers for Xbox Game Pass titles are a bit of an enigma. Twisted Voxel has released a new financial report that sheds some light on the matter. It claims that Microsoft has a $600,000.00 contract with Big Cheese Studio to put Cooking Simulator onto Xbox Game Pass.
Microsoft paid $600,000. According to a report, Microsoft bought Cooking Simulator through Game Pass
According to the report, Big Cheese Studio’s management board “informs” that they have reached an agreement with Microsoft Corporation on August 5, 2022. This agreement will allow Cooking Simulator to be included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription. The report goes on to detail that the contract, “which amounts to USD 600,000,” constitutes “approximately 22% of the net profit and approximately 17% of the company’s net revenue from the sale of products, goods and materials for the last financial year” — it sounds like Big Cheese Studio got a pretty good deal for Cooking Simulator if that is indeed the case.
We don’t know much about the Xbox Game Pass deals, but we do know that Microsoft pays a lump amount for certain games when they are released and launched into the service. Stephen Danton, 2 Ton Studios, previously explained that Microsoft paid a lump sum for his game upon its release. This was either in anticipation or offsetting the price you would have sold it for if it were available for sale at a physical store. Danton went on to explain that Microsoft does not pay royalties or bonuses for playtime, or the number of players who pick up the game.
Cooking Simulator can be played now with Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass. However, its DLC Pizza does not have any achievements.
