PlayStation is the Home of Mobile Game Studios
Savage Game Studios, a mobile game studio, was acquired by PlayStation Studios. This is just the latest addition to the growing number of developers joining the PlayStation Studios umbrella.
SIE is looking to expand and grow its gaming presence beyond PC and console with the acquisition of its most recent acquisition.

According to Savage Game Studios CEO and co-founder Michail Katkoff, the studio was formed by industry veterans in 2020 to create “a creative space where experimentation and taking risks weren’t warily avoided, but rather eagerly embraced.” Katkoff continued: “We made this deal because we believe that PlayStation Studios’ leadership respects our vision for how we can best operate and succeed, and because they too are not afraid to take chances.”
“All of that, plus the ability to potentially tap into PlayStation’s amazing catalog of IP and the fact that we will benefit from the kind of support that only they can provide… The harder question to answer would be, “why not?”
SIE has also created a new gaming section within PlayStation Studios that will create unique mobile game experiences. The PlayStation Studios Mobile Division will create high-quality, creative and versatile gaming content using existing PlayStation titles.
Hulst concluded the joint statement that its Mobile Division would work “independently” from its console hub as the development teams can focus on producing new PlayStation projects for the mobile platform. He also announced that Savage Game Studios was working on a new mobile gaming IP, with live service capabilities.
