What are the Black Stakes in Pokemon Scarlett and Violet?

There are four different sets of Black Stakes that correspond to different sealed Shrines in Paldea. The Firescourge Shrine is the Shrine located to the North-East on the map. It contains the legendary Pokemon Chi Yu.

After you have removed the eight black stakes, you will be able fight Chi-Yu. This is a level 60 encounter. Be prepared.

Chi-Yu Black Stake #1

Required Capabilities

Nearest Warp Location: Levincia, North

How to get there: Head west from the Pokemon Center towards the Lighthouse. To find the Black Stake, climb the steep hill to the North.

 

Chi-Yu Black Stake #2

Required Capabilities

The closest warp location: East Province (Area 3).

How to get there: Start at the East Province POkemon Center and go West into the woods. Then travel North to the bridge. To find the Black Stake, climb up the hill to the left of the pond.

 

Chi-Yu Black Stake #3

Requirements Abilities

The closest warp location: North Province (Area 2).

How to reach: The Black Stake is located a little further from the teleport points. It can be found at the southernmost point of North Province (Area Two). It is within a complex of ruins.

 

Black Stake #4 in Chi-Yu Chiyu

Required abilities to climb

Nearest Warp Location: North Province (Area one)

How to reach: Go North down the hill. The summit of a large mountain will be in front of you. This is where you will find the Black Stake.

 

Chi-Yu Black Stake #5

Required Capabilities

The closest warp location: North Province (Area Two/Fury Falls

How to Get There: Follow the Waterfall up to the top. This Black Stake can be found at the top of the waterfall.

 

Chi-Yu Black Stake #6

Requirements: Swim, Climb

Nearest Warp Location: Zapapico, West

How to Reach: From North of Zapapico or South of Glaseado, you will see a small patch of green between the snowy mountains and where the grass starts.

 

Chi-Yu Black Stake #7

Required Capabilities

The closest warp location: North Province (Area 2).

How to get there: Start at Pokemon Center by climbing up the hill to your right. It will be beneath the tree on top of the hill.

 

Chi-Yu Black Stake 8

Required Capabilities

Montenevera is the closest warp location

How to get there: Take a walk to the remote beach in the North East North section of the Map. It is located next to a hill.

Fury Falls, the nearest warp location

How to Reach: You can climb all the ways to Fury Falls. From there, you will find a passageway that leads deeper into Fury Falls. Here is the Blue Gateway.

 

Legendary Pokemon Battle in Chi-Yu

Name: Chi-Yu
Level: 60
Type: Dark/Fire
Ability: The Beads to Ruin – The power and stats of the Pokemon’s dismal beads decrease the Sp. All Pokemon, except it, have the same defense stats.
Moves: Lava Plume, Ruination, Bounce, Swagger

For this tiny goldfish, looks can be deceiving as it is a Dark Fire type. This battle is easy and you can plan your strategy to avoid its fire and flying moves. Lava Plume can be a Special Attack so your Special Defence will be required. But with Bounce being a physical attack and Ruination doing half of your health, a strong water pokmon (with no weakness in flying) is going be your best option.
