Age of Empires IV

The latest installment of the classic RTS series is going strong, with a huge new update coming soon at the time of this writing to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary.

Age of Empires IV takes place in the Middle Ages. It features 8 civilizations: the English and Chinese, the Mongols and the Delhi Sultanate. An update to the game will include the Ottomans as well as the Melians.

The Game Awards in 2021 presented the Best Sim/Strategy Game award to this game.

Gears Tactics

This top-down tactical, turn-based game is a spinoff of Gears of War third-person shooters. Although it is a departure from the original Gears games, it retains many of the same elements that made squad-based combat so enjoyable.

Gears Tactics features five character classes each with their own unique set of abilities. You can customize your character and gain new skills. It is both a great Gears game as well as a great tactical game, but it does not have a multiplayer mode.

Halo Wars 2: The Definitive Edition

Halo Wars 2 is a Halo universe re-launched in real time with a strategy that’s constantly changing.

Investigate and Destroy

Research and Destroy is an action-based game with online and local cooperative play. It’s a battle of Super Scientists against Super Scientists. The Supernaturals. You will be able to control three scientists who are brilliant at developing new weapons and gadgets that can destroy the supernatural hordes which have almost wiped out humanity.

To gain scientific insight on how to develop new weapons and upgrades, perform vivisections on the battlefield. Super science powers strategic shooting!
