Wow Bao is a fast-casual Asian restaurant that has established a phased Web3 strategy. This will include an NFT based extension of their Bao Bucks rewards programme and the launch of metaverse vending machine. They are hosting a contest at wowbao.com/metaverse, giving away digital collectibles and Wow Bao merchandise to kick off the new initiatives.
The initial phase of Wow Bao’s Web3 strategy will begin with the launch of a new NFT-based access pass, an evolution and extension of their Bao Bucks rewards program, the first and only Virtual Dining Rewards Program to be offered. They will be available to purchase and grant access to their Club. Wow Bao will offer three levels of passes. Each tier will unlock unique digital and physical rewards. Club members will also receive monthly giveaways and discounted prices. Passes are not like traditional non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and can be bought and accessed using a credit card or an email address. Wow Bao revealed that they plan to bring their hot food vending machines from Las Vegas and GA to the metaverse in 2023.
Wow Bao’s entrance into Web3 cements its commitment to continually exploring leading edge technology and finding unique and engaging ways to reach new consumers. It follows its use of self-ordering kiosks back in 2010, an animated cubby front-of-house experience in 2017 and unprecedented growth in the past few years to more than 700 locations via their virtual dark-kitchen program. In October alone, more than 100 new dark kitchens were created. Wow Bao is also partnering with Riot Racers to offer a virtual play/to-earn racing game.
