Square Enix’s HD-2D line of games has provided a chance, once again, to bring a fresh new take on the genre, and that’s resulted in the very best strategy game of 2022. Triangle Strategy This game feels like it could have been released in the golden age for RPGs. It has an epic story and strategic combat that gives a fun twist to your character classes. It comes with Triangle Strategy now on PC as well as Nintendo Switch, it’s easier than ever to dive into the epic tactical adventure.
Triangle Strategy It takes place on Norzelia, a continent that is divided into three powerful countries: the Kingdom of Glenbrook and the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost. Like any good tactical role-playing game, Triangle Strategy’s setting is on the brink of war. As Serenoa Wolffort (a young lord in Glenbrook), players take on the role. Serenoa becomes a pivotal figure in the conflict as tensions rise across the continent. The decisions he makes with his party determine the course of the story.
The story of Triangle Strategy This game is very slow. In order to develop Norzelia’s political position, slowly introduce new characters, and create intrigue, the game deliberately takes its time. There’s a huge emphasis on political and personal relationships.
What’s really interesting here, however, is how those political ideas tie into the very story itself.
Serenoa makes many decisions throughout the story. His choices fall under three ideologic categories: Utility Morality and Liberty. They’re also referred to as “Convictions” and fundamentally related to the whole “triangle strategy” naming convention. Each selection you make in one of these categories grants you an invisible stat increase to that particular category. It can influence how you interact with other people, how characters you can recruit and how easy you are able to convince advisors in key decisions.
There are many choices but the Scales of Convictions make the most important decisions. Each member of the main parties will vote for their choice. Before the election, you can gather information and try to persuade them. These decisions resulted in four distinct endings.
Although the story is an important focus, Triangle StrategyCombat is even more fascinating. Each unit has its own skills, class, strengths, and weaknesses. It is important to understand how each unit works. Jens can help you form the battlefield by laying traps and ladders. Erador, for instance, is a powerful frontline fighter that can protect others. Jens, however, can be used to support them. There are no classes, but the progression of individual units is enough.
Triangle Strategy There are some new combat elements that could impact your strategy. The follow-up attack system is the most significant. It allows you to launch an additional attack against an enemy unit if it is located on the opposing side. This puts a big emphasis on unit positioning, but enemies can do the exact same thing, so it’s important to keep track of their positioning as well.
Triangle Strategy There are many environmental effects that can alter the flow of battle. These include lightning spreading through a puddle or grass being set on fire. You can take advantage of these environment effects by using elemental magicks. On top of all this, many of the game’s maps introduce unique mechanics or elements, like one battle within a mine that lets you use carts to move around quickly … and run people over.
Last but not least, however, is the last thing we should mention. Triangle Strategy is the phenomenal presentation, as it’s easily the best-looking HD-2D game yet. The game’s sprite work looks gorgeous, especially when put up against the equally gorgeous environments and lighting effects.
While the PC version doesn’t add any big new features, it does make Triangle Strategy Visually, they look even more stunning by increasing the presentation to 4K or 60fps. It may seem excessive for a slow-paced tactical strategic game but it’s actually very useful. Triangle Strategy It’s a real treat to use a PC.
2022 was a huge year for strategy and RPG games. Triangle Strategy It still ranks as one of my favorite experiences of the year. Anyone that’s a fan of strategy or politics-fueled stories will find a lot to love, and multiple playthroughs can feel remarkably different. Hopefully, Triangle Strategy Square Enix may have more plans for strategy.
